Curatorial Profile
Trine Drivsholm’s sculptural practice is rooted in an attentive observation of form. Familiar vessel-like structures often provide a point of departure, but function quickly gives way to an exploration of proportion, rhythm and material presence. Her works retain something recognisable while moving towards forms that feel increasingly organic and autonomous.
Surface and colour play an essential role in this transformation. Soft, matt finishes and restrained tonal variations give the glass a sense of softness, while more textured surfaces emphasise its physical weight and material character. These contrasts allow Drivsholm to move between delicacy and solidity, refinement and rawness.
There is a quiet precision to her work, yet the forms never feel rigid. Curving contours, repeated structures and subtle irregularities suggest processes of growth and movement found in nature. Through this balance between control and material responsiveness, Drivsholm creates objects that invite attention not only to the transparency and light traditionally associated with glass, but also to its surface, volume and tactile presence.

Artist Statement
My practice explores forms, structures, rhythms and repetition found in nature. I am interested in nature as a system of movement, growth and experience. Organic forms, such as stones and plants, often serve as starting points for my investigations.
Glass is my primary material. Its transparency, depth and ability to reflect and absorb light allow me to explore the relationship between fragility and strength, control and unpredictability.
My process combines artistic research, craftsmanship and experimentation, allowing the material itself to influence the work.
